Herefordshire Mencap has long been involved in campaigning. We campaign locally and nationally for people with learning disabilities and their families. Our current campaigns can be found on this page.
I'm In!
Learning Disability Register Campaign
We are working with national Mencap’s ‘I’m In’ campaign encouraging people to contact their GP (doctor) to make sure they are on their GP’s Register.
We will be working until February 2027 to encourage more people to be on their GP’s Register.
We want ALL people with learning disabilities to know about the Register and all the good things that happen when they are on it.
We will be visiting organisations and groups across Herefordshire from July 2026.

STAY UP LATE
What Stay Up Late, the charity says:
"When we go out to gigs we want to stay for the whole thing and not leave when the carer says it's time to go,"
The campaign needs a refresh. This is happening on Friday 27 November 2026 in the Hereford Room at Hereford F.C. More information is in the Home page.

Bus Passes Anytime
We did it!
From November 2025 everyone who has a concessionary bus pass can use them 24 hours a day, 7 days week.

Changing Places Toilets
These are toilets for people who need more than an accessible toilet. They need a changing bed, a hoist and facilities for their support worker.
The only proper changing places toilet is in Old Market, Hereford, along with the general toilets.
The Government is currently giving Local Authorities an opportunity to bid for funding to increase the number of toilets in its area. Watch this space for more information.
